What is a normal menstrual cycle length? Should I be concerned if my menstrual cycle is irregular?

The American Society of Reproductive Medicine suggests that a “normal” menstrual cycle length is 21-35 days. That's the time between the start of one period and the next.

This may vary more for young women who have just begun menstruating and women who are approaching menopause.

The average menstrual cycle length is 28 days. A lot of us are not average!

Many women have menstrual cycles outside of the so-called “normal” range, either occasionally or more frequently.

This is something to mention to your doctor, especially if you are experiencing difficulty trying to conceive or if you are concerned about any health issue.

Keeping a record of your menstrual cycle length can help you and your doctor to identify any potential health issues that your menstrual cycle may reveal.

You can show your doctor your cycle stats from Free Menstrual Calendar at your next appointment!
